(VOVworld) – By the end of last month, 56 provinces across Vietnam had signed 340 friendship and cooperation agreements with both local and central governments from 30 countries and territories across the world. At a meeting to review international cooperation between localities in Vietnam and overseas partners in Ho Chi Minh City on Monday, the participants agreed that setting up and developing of local cooperative ties through out the country has produced several remarkable achievements. This adheres to the Party and Government’s policies on foreign affairs and the country’s desire to establish good relations with others. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ho Xuan Son addressed the event ‘We have pursued to the international integration policy that the 11^th National Party Congress agreed upon. According to the Congress, we should study our foreign partners carefully, and follow each province’s mission closely so they fulfill their foreign affairs assignments successfully. It’s also necessary to step up cooperation between the provinces and ministries and ensure that central agencies play their part. Personnel issues need to be prioritized. Those who work in foreign affairs or in provincial foreign affairs offices need to be proficient at foreign languages and strong in professional knowledge before they consult provincial administrations’.
