Exports of many products forecast to increase

(VOVWORLD) - The Ministry of Industry and Trade forecasts that export in the last quarter of this year will continue to increase because inflation tends to cool down in major economies, such as the US and Europe, while inventories in other countries are gradually decreasing. Consumption demand will also increase during year-end festivals.

Vietnam benefits from multinational corporations shifting production to the country. A representative of the Import-Export Department of the Ministry of Industry and Trade said that positive and coordinated measures have been implemented drastically to support production, promote trade, and expand the domestic and export market.

Dang Phuc Nguyen, Secretary General of the Vietnam Fruit and Vegetable Association, forecasts that in the last three months of the year which will be the holiday season, there will be a lot of room for fruit and vegetable export to increase.

The last months of the year is the harvest season for many types of vegetables and fruits with a total output of about 7.6 million tons. Abundant fruit supply will meet export orders. The export revenue of fruit and vegetable will be higher than the previous quarters. It is forecasted that fruit and vegetable exports could bring in more than 5.5 billion USD this year. Durian exports to China will continue to set new records with an export value of over 1.7 billion USD.

Head of the Wood Chip Section under the Vietnam Timber and Forest Product Association (Viforest) Thang Van Thong said that businesses have received positive response from partners. Some businesses having new orders have organized overtime shifts or recruit more workers.
