Government unveils solutions for 2014 targets

(VOVworld) – Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung chaired an online conference on Monday on the implementation of the National Assembly’s resolutions on targets of the 2014 socio-economic development plan. Key leaders of 63 cities and provinces in the country attended the meeting. To implement the resolution, the Government asked ministries, organizations and People’s Committees to enact 9 groups of solutions focusing on stabilizing the macro-economy, reining in inflation, and tackling difficulties in production. The government stressed the need to enforce the three strategic breakthroughs in line with restructuring the economy, shifting the nation’s growth model and improving the quality, effectiveness and competitiveness of the economy. The Party has identified three "strategic breakthroughs" including finalising the socialist-oriented market economy institution, rapidly developing human resources, and building a synchronous infrastructure system. The Prime Minister asked localities to review the socio-economic situation and the government’s performance in 2013. After the 2-day conference, the government is expected to issue a resolution on solutions to implement the socio-economic development plan and the state budget estimate in 2014.
