Government’s Action Program on Foreign Information up to 2020 underway
(VOVworld) – The Ministry of Information and Communications on Wednesday held a conference in Hanoi on the implementation of the government’s action program on foreign information up to 2020. The purpose of the program is to improve state management over foreign information and improve coordination in the field as well as promote Vietnam’s image and status internationally. Vietnam’s program will focus on disseminating Party guidelines and State policies and Vietnam’s stance on regional and international issues and promoting the land, people, culture and achievements of Vietnam in the renewal process. Priority will also be given to informing the Vietnamese people about the international situation and rejecting subversive and wrongful views by hostile forces. Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Bac Son said: “We should continue to adhere to the Party Politburo’s Resolution on international integration. The Ministry of Information and Communications will work with the National Steering Committee on Foreign Information to map out plans for next year. The Ministry will devise its own program of action for the 2013-2020 period. We will instruct provinces and other related ministries on how to implement the government’s program of action on foreign information.”

Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Phuong Nga briefed participants on world and regional events and recent achievements in Vietnam’s external relations as well as progress regarding the country’s international integration. During the occasion, the Authority of Information Service under the Ministry of Information and Communications introduced its website at vietnam.vn.
