(VOVworld) - The national tourism year 2013 will be held in the northern port city of Hai Phong.

The organizing board said in a press briefing on Saturday that themed “The Red River civilization”, the tourism year will consist of 67 events co-organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, Hai Phong city and other provinces in the Red river delta. Vice Chairman of the Haiphong City People’s Committee, Le Khac Nam, says the Culture and Tourism week of the Red river delta and Hai Phong and the Red Flamboyant Flower Festival will be the highlights. "We have learned experiences of other provinces and cities in hosting previous events in order to improve our programs. We’ll ensure security for tourists and upgrade means of transportation. We’ll also map out tourist routes and inform local people of this special event," Nam elaborates.
