(VOVworld) – A ceremony to honor more than 200 outstanding individuals and organizations involved in blood donation was held in Hanoi on Sunday to mark World Blood Donor Day.

Hanoi has been leading in blood donation in Vietnam for many years. Blood donor Nguyen Thi Thuan of Long Bien district said: “I’ve donated blood twice a year over the last 10 years. Leaders in my locality also donate their blood to encourage others to follow suit. Blood donation is a noble act and we should do it to save more lives.”
