Running through Sunday at Le Van Tam Park, District 1, the festival covers activities surrounding Tet markets, where to play during Tet, and what to do during the holiday.

Nguyen Thi Tra Giang, a resident in Go Vap district, said, “It’s very interesting for visitors to the festival to interact with artisans to make Chung cakes without using molds. I really admire the artisans who wrap the cakes completely manually but turn out a perfectly square shape.”

In addition to traditional and contemporary art programs, the 4‑day event will include many national Tet rituals.

Activities such as the Neu pole erection ceremony, a traditional ritual announcing the approach of Tet, the ancestor worshipping ritual, and a ceremony to welcome the Lunar New Year will be reenacted.

Vietnamese Tet Festival 2024 also honors the typical traditional cultural and culinary values.

At the main gate of the festival, three Vietnamese houses have been built and decorated with ancestral altars and Tet feasts from the North, Central and South featuring 121 dishes made by artisans. In addition, at the event festival goers can enjoy the feasts made by Michelin-honored restaurants and shops.

Phung Thi Huong, a festival-goer of Thu Duc, said, “The festival fully recreates the culture of Tet in the three regions of Vietnam. I hope through events like this, young people will learn more about Vietnamese culture and traditional Tet customs.”

Apart from art performances and Tet spaces, the festival will feature more than 100 booths displaying various products.
