(VOVworld) – The Eighth Hue Festival will open on Saturday under the theme “Cultural Heritage with Integration and Development” in Thua Thien Hue province.

As many as 65 art troupes from 38 countries and territories will join Vietnamese artists at the event. Speaking at a press conference on Friday to announce the event, Vuong Duy Bien, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism said the 2014 Hue Festival would attract the participation of many artists and people: “Apart from showcasing our national cultural heritage, the festival includes various activities to attract visitors. The festival is a chance for the art troupes to perform and connect with other art festivals”.

The 2014 Hue Festival program includes an Ao dai fashion show, Hue art performances, international cuisine festival and workshops on strategies to develop cruise tourism and industry as well as conference between ASEAN Ministers responsible for Culture and Arts.

The 2014 International Dance Festival will be also held in Thua Thien Hue province as part of Hue’s Festival. The event will include the participation of 9 foreign dance groups and 16 domestic art troupes.
