Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development addresses the meeting

In his report, Minister of Agricultural and Rural Development Cao Duc Phat stressed agricultural production has been restructured to tap local potential and match market developments. The application of science and technology in agricultural production has been increased. According to the report, agricultural exports earned 30.8 billion USD in 2014, 11% above 2013. Minister Phat said that in 2015 the agricultural sector will focus on science and technology application and production restructuring: “In addition to working with the Ministry of Science and Technology in implementing the Law on Science and Technology, we will focus on encouraging enterprises to participate in science and technology research, application and transfer. We plan to promote cooperation between state organizations and enterprises”.

Minister Phat said the revised law on taxation approved recently by the National Assembly will broaden preferential taxes for enterprises investing in agriculture.
