More favorable conditions needed for the young
(VOVworld) – Leaders of a number of central agencies attending the ongoing congress of the Vietnam Youth Federation have pledged more favorable conditions for the young to be involved in social welfare programs and in scientific and technological development.
Minister of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs Pham Thi Hai Chuyen praised the contributions of the young in recent years and promised to increase communication to improve their awareness and career guidance in school as well as develop support programs suitable to each group of age.
Minister of Science and Technology Nguyen Quan said he hopes young people will continue to learn new technologies to catch up with their peers around the world: “There are many talented young people but only a few have the opportunity to be leaders of research projects at the state or ministerial level so many have done their research projects abroad. Our responsibility is to stir and nurture their passion for science and create favorable conditions for their involvement in scientific and technological development, which is the nation’s future.”
A consultative meeting was held on Sunday to elect the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Federation, the Chair of the Central Committee, and the Inspection Committee for the 2014-2019 term.
