Movement for the poor reviewed
(VOVworld)- The Central Committee of the Fatherland Front has reviewed this year’s movement called “Day for the Poor”. Since it was launched 12 years ago, the Fund for the Poor has mobilized more than 8.5 trillion dong. So far, the Fatherland Front has received donations worth of trillions dong, and built and repaired more than 1.3 million houses. Deputy Prime Minister Vu Van Ninh addressed the review conference on Thursday: ”Vietnam’s efforts to reduce poverty have been successful thanks to state support and the public’s donations for the poor. The Vietnamese Party and State has always paid special attention to poverty reduction in order to maintain political and social stability and national defense. The whole political system and agencies at all levels need to work more closely to sustainably reduce poverty”.
Next year, the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the Organizing Committee of the Day for the Poor plans to increase communication activities to raise more funds for the poor.
