(VOVworld) – Representatives from 14 northern midland and mountainous provinces met on Friday in Yen Bai province to learn from each other’s experiences in how to effectively operate the People’s Councils. The participants proposed measures to improve the Council’s supervisory role and the Q&A activities. Some emphasized the need to amend the Law on the Organization of People’s Councils and People’s Committees, saying that the revised laws should include provisions on full time deputies and human resources training on an annual basis. Others suggested the prompt introduction of a law on People’s Council supervision.
