According to an Asian Development Bank report released this week, Vietnam holds positive mid-term and long-term economic prospective. Former Administrator of the General Statistics Office of Vietnam, Nguyen Bich Lam, said the forecast reflects Vietnam’s underlying economic situation and the GSO prediction, especially the government’s public investment disbursement and business environment improvement. The Ministry of Planning and Investment last month forecast 2 to 3% growth rate for Vietnam this year. The enforcement of various free trade deals, especially the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement will stimulate growth in farming, fisheries and industrial sectors.
