Production launched in the lunar New Year
Ministries, sectors and provinces nationwide have started production in the first day of the new lunar year. Workers in Hai Phong port have performed their duty as usual. Deputy Director of Hai Phong Port company, Bui Chien Thang says that all staff are at work to ensure a loading performance of more than 100,000 tons daily:“We are on duty 24 hours a day during Tet because both domestic and foreign vessels dock at the port as normal. Staff at work have their daily wages tripled according to the law.”

Hai Phong port had a loading volume of more than 17.5 million tons last year and the figure is expected to reach 19 million tons this year.
Local government and people in the central highlands province of Kon Tum have begun their annual campaign to strengthen the irrigation system and road maintenance. Hundreds of inter-commune roads have been repaired and upgraded while dredges have been cleaned up for better water channeling. Dinh Thu is the Deputy Chairman of Dac Mar Commune:“Local people have responded positively to our campaign to clean up the irrigation channels. This will improve water supply to our coffee fields. Roads have been repaired to ensure better traffic flow.”
Sa Huynh port in the central province of Quang Ngai has started up their fishing season. This is an annual ritual to pray for a successful fishing crop.
The Ministry of Public Security has announced a positive report on security and order in the first 3 days of the lunar new year. No serious crimes and fire crack cases are reported. The Ministry has instructed its provincial forces to ensure order along national roads and prevent congestion in urban areas.
