This event marks the beginning of a 2-month journey from June to July, traversing 51 provinces and cities nationwide. The 2024 "Red Journey" aims to educate and counsel one million people about voluntary blood donation and Thalassemia, collect at least 120,000 units of blood, and mobilize at least 8,000 volunteers, including Red Cross officers, members, and youth, to participate in the "Red Journey" and humanitarian activities in their localities.

To achieve these goals, Ms. Bui Thi Hoa, Standing Deputy Head of the National Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation Campaign and President of the Vietnam Red Cross Society, emphasized the need for local Steering Committees and the "Red Journey" Organizing Committee to develop plans and implement them according to local conditions.
She stressed the importance of promoting innovative communication about the humanitarian value of blood donation activities and enhancing coordination between sectors to ensure safe, economical, and effective campaigns and events related to blood and organ donation.

Over the past 11 years, the "Red Journey," with its message "Connecting Vietnamese Blood," has expanded its reach and garnered the support of numerous localities across the country.
So far, 58 provinces and cities have successfully participated in the "Red Journey," attracting millions of participants and collecting over 815,000 units of blood. This year sees the highest number of localities participating in the campaign's history.
