Religious dignitaries and village elderly meet in the south
(VOVworld)-The southern province of Bac Lieu has held a meeting with more than 150 religious dignitaries and village elderly. Deputy Chief of the Southwest Steering Committee Huynh Minh Doan told the meeting in Bac Lieu on Thursday that the living standards of ethnic people in the south west have been improved thanks to the Party and State support and the Party resolution on socio economic development and security in the Mekong Delta.

Delegates made recommendations to join the Party and State’s effort to maintain regional stability and foster infrastructure development, vocational training and employment.
The same day, the southern province of Hau Giang held a provincial Buddhism Congress to review its recent activities, especially humanitarian movements. More than fifteen billion dong have been mobilized by the local Buddhist Sangha to build houses and roads. Religious dignitaries pledge to promote their motto of religion, nation and socialism. Thich Hue Duc leads the provincial Buddhist Sangha in the new term:“Buddhism has been together with the nation for a long time and we share with the country’s growth for Buddhism development.”
