(VOVworld) - Nguyen Xuan Hieu, a student from Ho Chi Minh City Foreign Trade University, has won first prize at the slogan contest to mark the 40^th anniversary of Vietnam-Australia diplomatic ties. With the slogan, "Side by side or miles apart, our friendship crosses borders”, Hieu outperformed four other contestants, from Ho Chi Minh City, Danang and An Giang, to become the contest winner. The contest was launched in Ho Chi Minh City on May 22 by the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations' Ho Chi Minh city branch and the Vietnam-Australia Friendship Association in Ho Chi Minh City, with the aim of helping Vietnamese young people to gain a better understanding of Australia’s culture, while promoting solidarity between the countries. Phan Nu Uyen Nhi, a student of Danang University of Economics, who won the third prize, told VOV: “Through the slogan contest, I sent the message “Be together, success forever”. Like many other friends, my slogan encourages the cooperative spirit between the two countries, a key for our eternal bond. I want to contribute to Vietnam and the friendship between the two countries”.
