(VOVworld)- Localities national-wide have been conducting activities to help the poor  to celebrate the coming Tet Lunar New Year. Thanh Hoa province donated 35.000 Tet presents worth 200.000 VND each for poor households, 450 Tet presents  worth 500.000 VND each were given to extremely poor households. A “compassion rice jar” model was launched in Thanh Hoa province to help everybody have a happy Tet holiday. Trinh Thi Tiep, Chairwoman of  the Thanh Hoa Red Cross, said: “We have called on everybody in each hamlet, to donate a rice portion and some money to help people with extreme difficulties in their own hamlet or village. This model has increased the unity of households in the village.” 

Tet aid for the poor launched in localities

Quang Ning province is compiling a list of poor households that need help during  this Tet holiday. The province will set up 7 mission groups to visit and present Tet gifts worth 300.000 VND each for needy households and policy beneficiary families. The Da Nang People’s Committee will spend 20 billion VND helping the poor , the disadvantaged, and the war heroes to celebrate the coming Tet Lunar New Year. Quang Nam province has spent 34 billion VND to help its 107.000 policy beneficiary people.
