Agronomists said that since 2011 the Global Competitiveness Facility for Vietnamese Enterprises (GCF) funded by the Danish government has assisted Vietnamese exporters to develop an electronic trace system. So far, the project has developed trace verification software for the production procedures of shrimp, Tra fish, vegetable, and fruits, and has been successfully applied by 12 seafood exporters. The Association of Seafood Processors and Exporters said the US, EU, and Japan’s regulations on traces of aqua-cultural products have been included in the production chains for fishing, breeding, food production, farm organization, processing facilities, and retail purchasing. The conference suggested state agencies, including the Ministry of Trade, Customs office, and the Department of Food Safety and Hygiene, should issue incentives for enterprises to apply the electronic trace system and establish relations with international independent standard organizations.
