(VOVworld)- President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Nguyen Thien Nhan has stressed that the UN Day of Vesak 2014 creates an opportunity to boost solidarity between Vietnamese Buddhism and other countries. In a congratulatory letter on Wednesday to Vietnamese and foreign Buddhist dignitaries, monks and nuns on the occasion of the UN Day of Vesak 2014, Mr. Nhan said the event would contribute to promoting Buddha’s humanity values. He expressed his hope that the Vietnam Buddhist Shangha would further promote its 2000-year tradition of defending the nation and assisting people to gradually enable Vietnamese Buddhism to be one of the international Buddhist centers thus contributing to enhancing friendship and cooperation between Buddhism in Vietnam and other countries.
