(VOVworld) - Russian president Vladimir Putin met yesterday/ on Monday with trade union leaders from APEC countries in his Novo-Ogaryovo residence outside Moscow before the Vladivostok Summit on Monday. 

The Chairman of Vietnam’s General Confederation of Labor Dang Ngoc Tung attended the event. Mr. Putin said that as host, Russia acknowledged the suggestions and recommendations that trade union leaders proposed for the agenda, to raise the efficiency of labor force in the bloc.  He added that low unemployment rates and qualitative changes in the labor market should be at the top of the social agenda. The participants discussed economic integration within the framework of APEC, generating jobs and raising social employment rights for the region’s citizens. APEC member economies were encouraged to set up talks between state, workers and businesses to deal with the rising global unemployment rate.
