(VOVworld)- Vietnam Pharmacy Management Department of the Ministry of Health launched a communication program called “Vietnamese pharmacy path” in Hanoi on Friday. The program, in response to the campaign “Vietnamese people prioritize Vietnamese goods”, is expected to select and honor 100 best drugs of Vietnam. This program will be broadcast on Vietnam Television and Radio the Voice of Vietnam. It aims to raise the public awareness about the quality of Vietnamese drugs and link pharmacy management agencies, pharmaceutical companies and people. Minister of Health Nguyen Thi Kim Tien said: “The Ministry of Health will include best Vietnamese drug in health insurance and budget funding lists. We will also adjust regulations on doctors’ prescription using the e-prescription system to encourage the use of domestic drugs in treatment in central hospitals. 80% of drugs prescribed in district hospitals are domestic”.

There are 121 pharmaceutical factories in Vietnam meeting the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standards, many of them have met European standards.
