(VOVworld) – Vietnam is one of the first three developing countries to have completed its Biennial Update Reports to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change. The move has been internationally praised and illustrated its strong commitment to join the globe’s climate change resilience efforts.

Pham Van Tan, Deputy Director of the Department of Meteorology, Hydrology and Climate Change of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, said 2015 is a decisive year in negotiations to build a new global pact on climate change adaptation.
He said “the Ministry has been asked to work with ministries and agencies to draft a national proposal in mitigating the impact of green house emission, enhancing personnel capacity and technological transfer, and mustering financial sources. We hope to complete the proposal by no late than May to submit to the government for consideration before it will be sent to the Secretariat of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change. This is Vietnam’s practical contributions to the world struggle.”
