Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and the Environment, Bui Cach Tuyen, said that the World Environment Day on June 5 aims to promote green economy to ensure happiness and social equality while minimizing environmental risk and preventing eco-crisis. National activities in response to the event will take place in the northern province of Quang Ninh. These will include meetings and discussions to promote the Green Economy for sustainable development and environmental protection and art performances. Deputy Minister Bui Cach Tuyen: “Vietnam has initiated specific program to build up the Green Economy. This reflects the government decision in economic restructuring for sustainable development and minimizing climate change impact. Vietnam‘s socio economic development strategy by 2020 indicates that start-up businesses must apply clean technology and install equipment to lower pollution and waste treatment. Environment has been identified as one of 3 pillars for development, together with social and economic growth.”
