Vietnam welcomes 6 millionth foreign visitor this year
Curvalle Bernard Francois, a French citizen has become the 6 millionth foreign visitor to Vietnam this year. A ceremony to welcome Mr. Francois and other tourists on board the MV SuperStar Aquarious cruise ship from Hainan, China was held in Ha Long City today. Awards for this lucky visitor include an insignia, gifts and a package tour for 2 persons to Da Nang and Hoi An from the Saigon Tourist Company. “We’re very glad. By accident, we are here because when we were in China, one of my former Chinese students told me that there was a cruise to Halong Bay and I took the opportunity to come here. It’s a chance to become the 6 millionth visitor to Vietnam. In addition to my 50th anniversary of my wedding, we are twice glad”, said Mr. Francois.
On the occasion, Quang Ninh province and the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism also presented certificates to the 5,999,999th and 6,000,001st foreign visitors. According to the Vietnam national Administration of Tourism, the number of foreign tourists to Vietnam this year was 1 million more than last year and surpassed the set target. China topped the list, followed by Japan, the Republic of Korea, Malaysia, France, Australia and the US.
