(VOVworld) – Activities have been held nationwide to mark Vietnamese Teachers’ Day on November 20^th.

On Sunday Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc visited and congratulated leaders, lecturers, and educational staff of the Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, where he said: “Over the past 34 years, the Teachers’ Day is always a special event of the education sector and all Vietnamese people. I would like to show my deep gratitude to the entire teachers, lecturers in Vietnam, especially those who are working in remote, border, and island areas. The Vietnamese Party, State, and people are thankful to their tireless sacrifice and contributions.”

PM Phuc spoke highly of the achievements in training and researches over the years by the University which always leads Vietnam in both studies and scientific applications.

During talks with the university’s students, Mr. Phuc said start-up is the order of the ongoing industrial revolution and thus the university should pay more attention to encouraging talents. He insisted that start-up is the measurement for a constructive and incorruptible government.

Earlier PM Phuc visited the colleges of the Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City including the Economics College.

On Saturday, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam visited and congratulated teachers at Dak Plao Secondary School and Quang Trung Primary School in the remote commune of Dak Plao, Dak Nong province. He thanked the teachers who have overcome numerous difficulties to bring knowledge for extremely disadvantaged ethnic minority children in Dak Nong.

On the occasion of the education’s holiday, Minister of Education and Training Phung Xuan Nha sent his greetings and best wishes to teachers, officials, and employees in the sector nationwide.

Celebrations were also held the same day across the country to celebrate the 34th anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day.
