An award ceremony will be held during the IUPAC World Chemistry Congress in August.
Awardees were chosen for their excellence in basic or applied research, distinguished accomplishments in teaching or education, or demonstrated leadership or managerial excellence in the chemical sciences.
Professor Thanh said she hopes the awards will inspire female scientists and young girls to pursue their dreams of contributing to science and the community, and that her award will elevate the prestige of Vietnamese intellectuals and scientists and encourage them to confidently step up and engage with the scientific community.
