Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Thanh Nghi said that building new urban areas with integrated green space has become a global trend. He said: "Green growth is an integral part of sustainable development which also ensures fast, effective, and sustainable economic growth, while contributing to the implementation of the National Strategy on Climate Change. To achieve this goal, a number of comprehensive solutions are required including those in planning, and planning management with a vision towards sustainable urban areas, ensuring economic and ecological efficiency, a comprehensive technical infrastructure, conserving energy, reducing environmental pollution and increasing green spaces in cities."Vietnam’s metropolitan areas have experienced vigorous growth in the past years, meeting people’s growing demands for better living conditions. However, this also poses challenges such as an increase in green house gas emissions, contributing to climate change.
