Indian pollution control vessel visits Ho Chi Minh City
(VOVWORLD) - The Indian Coast Guard (ICG)’s pollution control vessel Samudra Paheredar, with a crew of 120 sailors led by Captain Sudhir Ravindran, anchored at Ho Chi Minh City port on Tuesday to mark the beginning of a four-day visit to the city.

The Indian delegation paid courtesy visits to leaders of the municipal People's Committee and the commander of Coast Guard Region 3. They engaged in friendly exchanges, demonstrated pollution response activities, and conducted a joint exercise alongside the Vietnamese Coast Guard (VCG).
The visit was part of a memorandum of understanding on co-operation signed by the two sides back in 2015.
Ravindran highlighted the visit as a prime opportunity for both officers and soldiers of the two forces to exchange experience and practices in maritime law enforcement, thereby further contributing to strengthening their friendly relations, co-operation, mutual understanding, and trust.
The 94.1m-long vessel boasts modern pollution response equipment and is able operate at sea for 20 days with a range of 6,000 nautical miles.
