Pham Anh Dung, Deputy Head of the park’s Sea Preservation Division, said these sea turtles belong to the Green Turtle species listed in the Vietnam Red Book as well as the World Red List (IUCN). Early rain and strong humidity this year has resulted in the largest number of turtle eggs in five years.

Since 2000, Nui Chua National Park has cooperated with many domestic and foreign organizations such as the International Fund for Nature, the Global Environment Fund, and the Institute of Oceanography to implement projects on conserving and conducting research on turtle species in marine areas, the status of turtles on breeding grounds, and developing plans to protect breeding grounds and to rescue sea turtles.
