Politburo reshapes leadership of 5 national institutions

These are public agencies under the Party Central Committee, placed under the direct and regular leadership of the Politburo and the Secretariat.

Addressing the event, Permanent member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat Tran Cam Tu urged the three major media agencies to further recognize their role as core forces in the Party’s ideological work, while building a strong national media ecosystem capable of competing regionally and internationally.

For the two academies, he called for stronger interdisciplinary research, closer links between social and natural sciences, and better integration of basic and applied research to serve rapid and sustainable national development.

The same day, a separate conference was held to transfer Party organizations and members from the Government Party Committee to the Party Committee of central Party agencies.

The transformation of the 5 institutions from government bodies to public service units under the Party Central Committee represents a decision of major strategic importance, reflecting the Party’s vision to continue reforming leadership methods, enhancing operational efficiency, and strengthening direct and comprehensive central oversight over critical sectors such as national media and scientific research. The transition is a fundamental change in position, role, and political responsibility in a new stage of national development.
