(VOVWORLD) - 53-year-old Trinh Thi Hong was the first woman in Da Nang City to make dish washing liquids and floor cleaners just from organic waste. Not only did Hong create eco-friendly products but she also generated jobs for nearly 130 women.

War veteran offers free classes for 20 years

(VOVWORLD) - War veteran Nguyen Huu Thoi, also known as Mr. Ba Thoi, has been operating classes for poor children, free of charge, for 20 years. He is no stranger to the people in My Binh Ward, Long Xuyên, An Giang Province. At the ripe age of 70, Mr. Thoi has devoted his time, energy, and passion to teaching and supporting needy children, with the hope that they will grow up to escape their poverty and become good citizens.

Dang Minh Tuan from Quang Ninh province got in a terrible accident 12 years ago and was in critical condition. It was so dire that even the doctors did not expect him to survive. But against all odds, he made it through and his story of recovery is now inspiring people to find new strength, courage and determination to move forward.

Hanoi College voluntary project: Paint, Sweat and Inspiration

(VOVWORLD) -We arrived at the Projects Abroad’s Hanoi office at around 8:45, the volunteers shuffling into the kitchen for morning tea. Riyaad, our project assistant, pointed at a collection of supplies in the corner of the room, buckets of paint, brushes, bamboo sticks, rollers, and told us we should pack them into the trunk of the car. We being, myself, Charlotte, Duyen, the volunteers, along with Riyaad and Anh, the projects directors, were headed to the Hanoi College of Technology and Trading, on the outskirts of the city, to re-paint a few classrooms with the students.

(VOVWORLD) - The lives of 1,000 disadvantaged young people have been transformed by vocational training provided by KOTO, a social enterprise in Vietnam founded in 1999 by a Vietnamese-Australian. KOTO, which stands for Know One Teach One, provides free training courses on cooking, catering, and baking to disadvantaged youth. The KOTO project “Her turn”, to take place in August, will give vulnerable young women vocational training that will bring them employment and start-up opportunities.
