Binh Chanh district has 27 products with OCOP certification, including pasteurized goat milk, ginseng wine, honey, orchids, yellow apricot ornamental trees, and microbiological organic fertilizer. The launch of the first OCOP Club shows the support of the administration and associations for sustainably developing local products. The Club's management board expects revenues of about 2 million USD per month.

Tran Thanh Oanh, General Director of the ABZ Food Import-Export Company, says the Club will enable farm households and cooperatives to support each other in production and sales.

“To increase a product’s value, a quality control board is needed. We’ve established an organic fertilizer factory and the club members will be provided with capital, seeds, fertilizers, and sale support,” said Oanh.

Khuu Thi Diem Phuong, Chairwoman of the Binh Chanh district Farmers' Association, said the Association helps members apply technology in production, use e-commerce platforms, and contribute to building smart urban areas. In particular, the Club helps farmers transition from  small-scale production to a cooperative model.

“Farmers have applied high-tech and IT to production. This has cut labor and transportation costs. Farmers have been trained to use e-commerce platforms to reduce their costs, increase their sales, and raise their incomes," said Phuong.

The Binh Chanh OCOP Club now has 24 members and is building a display area for local OCOP products.
