Under the regulations of the Ministry of Health, drivers transporting Vietnamese exports to China through the Huu Nghi International Border Gate, Cao Loc district, Lang Son province, must wear protective clothing. The regulations have been observed by most drivers. Driver Pham Ngoc Tuan Vu of Khanh Hoa province said: "With this protective gear, I don’t have to be quarantined for 14 days. I feel safer in this clothing when driving to China."

The protective gear for drivers will be collected, disinfected, and disposed of under the regulations of the health sector. Agencies have disinfected and are closely monitoring porters and drivers at the border gate.

Hoang Phuc Sinh, Head of the International Health Quarantine Team at the Huu Nghi International Border Gate said: “The Lang Son International Quarantine Agency has instructed drivers to wear protective clothing at the border gate. At the end of the day, we treat used clothing as medical waste. Asking drivers to wear protective clothing reduces the risk of Covid-19 spreading in the community."

Phan Hong Tien, Head of the Management Board of the Dong Dang-Lang Son Border Gate Economic Zone, said Lang Son province’s coordinated measures have prevented congestion of exports at the local border gates and reduced losses for enterprises.

Mr.Tien said: "The measures we have put in place have increased the volume of goods exported through the Huu Nghi border gate. We regularly talk to our Chinese counterparts in Guangxi province to get goods through the Tan Thanh and Coc Nam border gates while strictly following quarantine measures."

Functional agencies in Lang Son province are working closely with their Chinese counterparts to keep all enterprises informed about the situation at the border gates.
