In Hanoi, merchandise students will need for school has been discounted 5-50%. Fahasa bookstore, for instance, has discounts between 10 and 50%, along with enticing gifts. Phuong Nam bookstore is offering up to 15% off student notebooks and 10% off other school supplies. Supermarkets too are offering discounts on back-to-school essentials.

In Ho Chi Minh City, Co.opmart is running a "Get Ready – Go to School Together" campaign, offering attractive promotions on erasers, ballpoint pens, highlighters, colored pencils, notebooks, and uniforms, with discounts ranging from 20 to 40%.

Mai Thi Sang, who lives in District 3, said: "Despite a tough economy, the prices of school supplies remain affordable. This year's supplies are diverse and beautifully designed. My children prefer Vietnamese brands for their quality."

School supplies like notebooks, backpacks, uniforms, shoes, pens, and electronic devices are part of the Ho Chi Minh City Market Stabilization Program, which ensures that prices are 5-10% lower than the market average. Businesses have prepared sufficient stock so that there will be no price hike, and the city has set up 15 mobile sales points for student supplies.

Nguyen Van Dung, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, said: "Through this stabilization program, people can access essential goods at affordable prices, particularly for the new school year."

Despite rising production costs, businesses are striving to maintain stable prices and continue promotions to support parents and stimulate sales.
