The most popular spring festivals in Vietnam include the Hung Temple Festival in Phu Tho province, the Huong Pagoda Festival in Hanoi, the Yen Tu Pagoda Festival in Quang Ninh, the Tran Temple Seal Opening Festival in Nam Dinh, the Lim Festival in Bac Ninh, and the Ba Den Mountain Festival in Tay Ninh.
People hold ceremonies to worship and pay gratitude to predecessors, national heroes, and national devotees. A wide range of cultural and sports activities and folk games are also organized.
The Huong Pagoda Festival, which opens on the 6th day of the first lunar month and runs for 3 months, is the biggest and longest festival in Vietnam. Pilgrims come to worship Buddha and enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way.
On the 12th and 13th day of the lunar year, Bac Ninh province welcomes visitors to the Lim Festival, which features performances of Quan Ho folk songs and folk games.
Nguyen Thi Thao, a visitor from Hai Phong, is attending the Lim Festival for the first time. Thao said: "I’m very excited about the Festival. Performances of Quan Ho folk songs inspire me."
On Monday, the 9th day of the lunar year 2023, the Huyen Tran Temple Festival opened in Hue city. Pilgrims burn incense to worship King Monk Tran Nhan Tong, his daughter Princess Huyen Tran, and other predecessors who made great contributions to the nation.
Hoang Thi Thuy, a resident of Hue city, said: "Attending the festival in the first days of the year, I pray for a year of wealth and prosperity. I wish everyone health, peace, and happiness."
