Supermarkets like Co.opmart, Mega Market, Lotte Mar, and HaproMart are filled with Tet goods, most of them made in Vietnam. Vietnamese brands like Kinh Do, Huu Nghi, Bibica, and Hai Ha offer a wide range of products with impressive packaging and low prices. Nguyen Thi Thanh of Hanoi says that in recent years, the design and quality of domestic products has improved and prices are competitive.

"Many customers opted for imported products but I prefer domestic goods because they have beautiful designs and embrace Vietnamese tradition. The low prices are a decisive factor," said Thanh.

In recent years Vietnamese confectionery businesses have invested in upgrading their technology to improve product quality and satisfy domestic demand. Vuong Trong Tuan, Deputy Director General of the Ha Noi Confectionery Company, says that this year the company expects sell about 500 tons of Tet goods.

Mr. Tuan said: "We are all set to realize our plan and are confident that we can meet customer demand. Our products are hygienic and safe thanks to the Head Sat system. We have worked with our suppliers to ensure a stable supply of materials, and because most of our products are made from vegetables and fruits, we have visited the growers and signed contracts with them."

The Ministry of Industry and Trade has asked localities and businesses to ensure the supply of essential goods for Tet. The Ministry has promoted the programs “Vietnamese people prioritize Vietnamese goods” and “Bringing Vietnamese goods to rural areas, industrial parks, and mountain and island areas”.
