Under the volunteer program, young doctors in Hanoi will provide free medical examinations, medicine, and gifts to some 10,000 people in 30 districts and towns in Hanoi.

As part of the program, the Journey of Voluntary Blood Donation, themed “For the lives of sick people, for the advancement of youth”, has a goal of collecting 100,000 units of blood.

Nguyen Duc Tien, Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Youth Union, said: “We want to encourage the spirit of pioneering, volunteerism, and social responsibility among young people, and express our gratitude to our predecessors, who rendered great service to the revolution, the capital, and the nation.”

At a launch ceremony in Thanh Oai district, the Vietnam Youth Federation of Hanoi and the Hanoi Young Doctors’ Association signed a coordinating agreement with Long Chau Pharmacy to provide Hanoians free medicines and medical check-up vouchers worth more than 32,000 USD.

The Hanoi Young Doctors’ Association offered free examinations and medicines to 1,000 people in Thanh Oai district.

Several people expressed their gratitude. “The doctors examined me and gave me medicines. I’m very glad.”

“The doctors checked my throat, heart, and ears. They gave me supplements and gifts.”

This year the volunteer program for community health will be carried out in 30 wards and districts in Hanoi.
