DFM connects design firms and PCB manufacturers and enables verification of PCB designs before manufacturing by creating a digital twin of the entire PCB production process.
The announcement was made at a launch ceremony in Hanoi on Thursday in combination with a seminar on IC Design and PCB Manufacturing.
This brings the total number of software licenses provided by Siemens EDA to 1,200, benefiting NIC and the 18 selected universities participating in the Vietnamese government’s project - “Human Resource Development in the Semiconductor and Electronics Industry”.
Addressing the function, Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc said the NIC, along with universities and enterprises, has made significant efforts to promote various activities aimed at enhancing cooperation between the government, institutes, and industry. “This collaboration is crucial for achieving the goal of providing thousands of talented engineers to the semiconductor and electronics industry.”

Dan Hoz, Founder of Valor Computerized Systems and Vice President of Siemens EDA, expressed his support of the Vietnamese Government’s strategy and policies for developing the semiconductor and electronics industry.
He particularly highlighted the efforts of the Ministry of Planning and Investment and the NIC in fostering strategic cooperation with leaders in IC and PCB design and manufacturing, and with leading global technology corporations, including Siemens EDA, to realize Vietnam’s industry development strategy.
“Now is the best time for cooperation between Siemens EDA and Vietnam to build an ecosystem and support the provision of human resources to the industry,” Hoz noted.
The event was organized by the National Innovation Center (NIC) of the Ministry of Planning and Investment, Siemens EDA, and Vietbay Technology Company (Vietbay).
