A: This week, we received a letter from Robert Gentry of the US, who reported listening to our broadcast on March 7, 2025: “I’m writing to provide a reception report from the March 7, 2025, between 11:34:00 AM and 11;56:AM UTC. I received this signal while I was in Japan on business.”

B: Thank you Mr. Gentry for your detailed report on the reception of our broadcast from a country far away from your home country. We really appreciate your interest in Voice of Vietnam programs and we hope to hear from you again .

A: Many listeners also asked about traveling by train in Vietnam, which is a growing tourism trend after learning that Vietnam Railways (VNR), in coordination with the Hai Phong municipal authority, announced the recognition of Hai Phong station as a "tourist destination" and launched a high-quality train named "Hoa Phuong Do" (Red Flamboyant).

B: To meet the growing demands of passengers, the VR has undertaken a comprehensive renovation and upgrade of its passenger carriages, featuring luxurious interiors and modern amenities.

A: This is the first time the railway industry has introduced a VIP carriage with 34 seats, featuring Indochine-style interiors. Each carriage includes spacious hand-washing areas, and modern restrooms. Additionally, the train offers 64-seat standard carriages with flexible ticket pricing to cater to the diverse travel demands of passengers.

A: Traveling by train is currently a new trend, as rising prices of domestic air tickets are leading to an increase of 10-15% in tour prices.

B: The railway industry, therefore, is striving to innovate and coordinate with tourism businesses to improve quality and associate tourism with “awakening” heritage.

A: Tours by train to central localities such as Quang Binh, Thua Thien-Hue, Da Nang, and Quang Nam have been organized to increase tourists’ experiences.

It is a new product that combines transportation and tourism services, promising new and interesting experiences of history, culture, and heritage for passengers.

B: The train used for this route consists of five modern passenger carriages and another for community activities. It is expected to become an impressive “mobile” check-in place for travelers.

A: Railway routes and traveling by rail in Vietnam have grabbed foreign headlines. The British travel guide Lonely Planet even named the North-South railway as one of the world's most incredible rail trips.

B: Vietnam’s North-South railway, also known as the Reunification Express, stretches about 1,730 kilometers between the country’s two biggest cities Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City over the course of two days.

A: Vietnam has much more to attract tourists. We hope to welcome you in Vietnam one day. Seeing is believing!

B: That wraps up this week’s Letter Box! Thank you to all our listeners for your continuous support, thoughtful messages, and participation. If you haven’t joined the contest yet, there’s still time!
