Dong Tac port manages 515 fishing vessels from Phu Yen and Tuy Hoa wards, of which 328 vessels which are 15 meters or longer have installed tracking devices.

As fishing vessels resume their voyages, Dong Tac port not only supports safe, sustainable, and regulated fishing practices but also serves as a crucial "checkpoint" in fisheries management and IUU fishing prevention. Ha Vien, Director of the Dong Tac Fishing Port Management Board, emphasized disseminating information and guiding fishermen to strictly adhere to fishing regulations.

“We regularly urge captains and ship owners to strictly comply with the directives of the Ministry and the Prime Minister. When setting sail at sea, they must turn on the vessel tracking device and keep a complete fishing log. Upon returning to port, they must submit the log and cooperate with the port to input data into the electronic traceability system. We educate fishermen to absolutely not violate foreign waters, not cross the boundaries of Vietnam's waters, and only fish legally within permitted areas," said Mr Ha Vien.

Dak Lak province has determined that supporting fishermen must be closely linked to sustainable fisheries development and IUU fishing combat. The province has strengthened the management of fishing vessels, strictly controlled port entry and exit, traced the origin of seafood, and severely punished violations.

Nguyen Thien Van, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Dak Lak province, said, “The heads of departments are responsible for carrying out tasks. If fishing vessels continue to commit violations that affect the lifting of the IUU yellow card and the fulfillment of Vietnam's international commitments, depending on the nature and severity, the collective or the individual leader will be held accountable.”
