Armed forces disinfect Hanoi amid ongoing COVID-19 fight Monday, July 26, 2021 | 15:04:02 (VOVWORLD) - Soldiers from the Vietnamese army’s chemical division began to disinfect the capital on July 26 with the aim of curbing the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. On-duty soldiers begin their work on sanitising key areas from 8 a.m. on July 26. Hundreds of soldiers donning full-protective gear are deployed at various places throughout Hanoi to undertake the task. A total of 20 specialised vehicles are fully utilised in order to spray numerous key venues in the capital. Disinfection work begins at the renowned Hanoi Opera House, with 10 wards located in Hanoi’s Old Quarter being sanitised on the morning of July 26. Simultaneously, another group of soldiers perform a similar task in Chuong My district of Hanoi. A number of other key areas, such as Ly Thuong Kiet, Hai Ba Trung, and Tran Hung Dao are fully sterilised on the morning of July 26. The disinfectant chemical Cloramine B is used by relevant forces and is sprayed along many of the city’s main roads. These efforts come following dozens of positive COVID-19 cases being detected each day. Along with disinfection work, local authorities request that residents strictly follow COVID-19 prevention and control measures.
