The United Arab Emirates (UAE) host the match on June 7, thereby marking the return of international football for Vietnam after 566 days of no games due to delays caused by the impact of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. |

Tuan Anh is forced off with an injury in the 35th minute, with the first half eventually ending in a goalless draw. |
Head coach Park Hang-seo makes some changes to the team at half time to ensure Vietnam attack more in the second half. This helps Vietnam to go on and score the first goal in the 51st minute thanks to Tien Linh, with the second goal coming via a superb strike by Quang Hai a few minutes later. |
