21 million USD raised for Cubans via Red Cross campaign

(VOVWORLD) - The Vietnam Red Cross Society raised 21 million USD as of 8 p.m. Thursday, the last day of the campaign called "65 years of Vietnam-Cuba friendship", intended to support the Cuban people and to demonstrate solidarity and loyalty of the Vietnamese people.

The campaign began on August 13 and ran for 65 days, aiming to raise at least 2.4 million USD to help the Cuban people. Thanks to widespread public support, the campaign achieved its goal in just 30 hours.

Vice President and General Secretary of the Vietnam Red Cross Society Nguyen Hai Anh said this is the first time an international campaign of the Society has achieved a scale of millions of donations and millions of dollars in a record short time.

2025 marks 65 years of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Cuba.
