French voters in overseas territories started their voting for the decisive second round of presidential elections on Saturday, a day before it is scheduled in the mainland.

This is the fierce race between pro-European centrist Emmanuel Macron and far-rightist Marine Le Pen. The latest poll saw Macron getting 59 percent of votes versus 41 percent for Le Pen. The two candidates have their opposite political viewpoints. Le Pen wants a France with closed borders and to abandon free-trade deals while Macron wants to increase European Union cooperation.

The preliminary results will be announced on Monday and the new French President will swear in on May 14.
