(VOVworld) – Hanoi has held a ceremony to mark the 35th anniversary of the Vietnam National Commission for UNESCO. Speaking at the ceremony today, Deputy Foreign Minister and President of the Vietnam National Commission for UNESCO Nguyen Thanh Son emphasized that the Commission is committed to its role as an effective multi-channel diplomacy carrying the values of culture, education, and science from Vietnam to the world. He added that the Commission has actively contributed to the international integration process and to promote Vietnam’s image to the world. Mr. Son: UNESCO’s task will now begin a new phase. It is necessary to strengthen society’s perception to meet demands of Vietnam’s development and global integration. The Vietnam National Commission for UNESCO will further promote its role as a bridge linking Vietnam and UNESCO - the UN’s largest organization for culture, education, science, and information. We will also enhance Vietnam’s role and position in the organization to affirm that Vietnam is an active member in the international community”.

On this occasion, the Commission was conferred Independence Order third-class for its efforts and achievements in national construction and defense country.
