Running through Friday, the event, themed “Virtual Assistant,” is expected to host over 600 delegates, including leaders of state agencies from nearly 30 countries, representatives of international organizations, and leading technology firms.
Speaking at a ministerial-level roundtable discussion on Tuesday, Minister of Information and Communications and Vice Chairman of the National Committee on Digital Transformation Nguyen Manh Hung said AI serves as the cornerstone of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. He underlined that AI is not a replacement for humans but a tool to enhance human creativity by handling data processing tasks.
Minister Hung said as AI is new to all, collaboration is essential for mutual growth. Vietnam views Open Source AI as a sustainable path forward, as it fosters trust and global progress instead of technological monopolies. Vietnam will continue to promote international cooperation in digital technology and the digital economy, prioritizing AI and virtual assistant development initiatives, he said.
The discussion sessions featured insights from ASEAN ministers, the ASEAN Secretariat, and representatives from the United Nations in Vietnam and the International Telecommunication Union. Participants shared experiences and policy recommendations on implementing virtual assistants in national and global contexts.
