(VOVWORLD) - The retaliatory attack Israel launched on Iran on October 26 degraded part of Tehran’s nuclear program, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a parliament speech on Monday.

According to Netanyahu, Israel's mission is to stop Iran from obtaining a nuclear bomb and he had discussed this with both US President Joe Biden and, recently, with President-elect Donald Trump.
President Biden called on G20 leaders Monday to step up pressure on Hamas for a ceasefire with Israel. The outgoing President also renewed his calls for Israel to limit civilian casualties in its conflict in Gaza, which it launched following Hamas’s October 7, 2023, attack on Israel.
The US is going to keep pushing to reach a cease-fire deal that ensures Israel’s security, brings hostages home, and ends the suffering of the Palestinian people and children, he added.
EU foreign ministers on Monday rebuffed a proposal to suspend political dialogue with Israel. The proposal by Josep Borrell, head of Foreign Policy of the EU, did not obtain the necessary unanimity.
