(VOVworld)-The Vietnamese embassy  and community in Russia on Thursday held a get-together to mark the 68^th anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army (December 22^nd), the 40^th anniversary of the Hanoi-Dien Bien Phu in the air victory, and the 23^rd anniversary of  National Defense Day. Addressing the event, Vietnamese ambassador to Russia Pham Xuan Son stressed that during the 12 historic days and nights of the Hanoi-Dien Bien Phu in the air battle, the former Soviet Union, now Russia helped the Vietnamese people a great deal.  Russia sent outstanding people to Vietnam to train Vietnamese soldiers contributing significantly to this glorious victory. Son expressed his hope that the Vietnamese community in Russia will continue to uphold the tradition of great unity to help each other in studying, working and contributing to the development of the long-lasting friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Russia.
