Vietnam’s top leader to visit Mongolia, Ireland, France, attend Francophonie Summit

(VOVWORLD) -Party General Secretary and State President To Lam will pay State visits to Mongolia and Ireland, attend the 19th Francophonie Summit and make an official visit to France from September 30 to October 7.

In an interview with the press, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son said that the trip aims to once again affirm Vietnam’s foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, multilateralization, diversification, comprehensive and extensive international integration. It also demonstrates the high respect of the Party and State of Vietnam for the traditional friendship with Mongolia the friendship and multifaceted cooperation with Ireland, and the strategic partnership with France. Vietnam desires to enhance and deepen cooperation frameworks in accordance with the current situation and benefits of countries.

In particular, the State visit to Mongolia takes place on the 70th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic relations. General Secretary and President To Lam will discuss with senior leaders of Mongolia major directions and important measures to further tighten political trust as well as strengthen cooperation in many priority areas, especially political cooperation, diplomacy, economics, trade, tourism and people-to-people exchanges.

During his first state visit to Ireland since the two countries established diplomatic relations, senior leaders of both sides will discuss measures to promote extensive cooperation in high-quality investment, science, technology, innovation, digital transformation, energy transformation, education and training.

In France, leaders of both sides will exchange measures to elevate the strategic partnership to a new level, strengthen traditional cooperation and expand cooperation into new fields.

Through the trip, Vietnam will continue to cement coordination with other countries in addressing regional and global issues, call on countries to pay more attention and create conditions for the Vietnamese community to integrate more deeply into the host society, promote their bridging role, and contribute to Vietnam's friendly relations with other countries.
